Supervisory billing provides eligible prelicensed clinicians with an opportunity to gain clinical experience while working under an approved supervisory and billing structure. At Congruency Counseling, this may include opportunities to work with Medicaid clients, develop a caseload, strengthen documentation and treatment-planning skills, and gain experience with the clinical and administrative aspects of private practice. Availability depends on clinician qualifications, practice capacity, supervision requirements, and current payer regulations.

No. Although the two may work together, they serve different purposes. Clinical supervision focuses on your professional development, clinical skills, ethical decision-making, case conceptualization, and progress toward licensure. Supervisory billing refers to an arrangement that may allow an eligible prelicensed clinician to provide services under an approved billing and supervisory structure. The specific requirements and responsibilities of each arrangement will be discussed before services begin.

Clinical supervision may be available to Colorado LPCCs working toward LPC licensure, as well as other developing clinicians when the supervisor’s credentials, competence, and scope of practice meet applicable requirements. Because every clinician’s situation is different, we recommend an initial consultation to discuss your education, employment setting, clinical experience, licensure goals, and supervision needs.

Faith integration is available but is not required. For clinicians who desire it, supervision can include thoughtful exploration of how a Christian worldview intersects with counselor identity, clinical decision-making, ethics, and client care. Particular attention is given to maintaining appropriate boundaries, respecting client autonomy, and ensuring that spiritual or religious interventions are guided by the client’s beliefs, preferences, and treatment goals.
