Shelby Reich, Intern
Shelby will be joining Congruency Counseling in late August as our first intern! We are so excited to have her and her passion for the field of counseling.
As a Colorado native, I was born and raised on the Western Slope and have called the Front Range home since 2018. My husband and I are raising three energetic boys, and much of our time is spent at sporting events, exploring the outdoors, fishing, camping, and enjoying everything Colorado has to offer. When I have a little time to myself, you'll most likely find me paddleboarding on a quiet lake.
I earned my bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in Sociology from the University of Northern Colorado in 2025 and am currently completing my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Colorado Christian University. Before beginning my counseling career, I had the privilege of being a stay-at-home mom for many years, allowing me to be involved with all my kids’ activities. For the past five years, I have worked with children in the school system, where I have developed a deeper appreciation for the unique emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs of children and adolescents. Once my youngest started school, I chose to pursue the calling I had felt since I was young—to walk alongside others as they navigate life's challenges and discover hope and healing.
My own experiences with life's joys and hardships, combined with my work supporting students and families, have shaped me into a counselor with deep empathy, compassion, and genuine understanding. I believe every person has inherent worth and the capacity for growth, and I strive to create a safe, supportive environment where clients feel heard, accepted, and empowered. It would be an honor to walk alongside you as you pursue healing, greater self-awareness, and meaningful change.

Working with an Intern
As a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern, I provide counseling services under the supervision of a licensed professional counselor while completing my graduate training at Colorado Christian University. This allows me to offer evidence-based, compassionate care while receiving ongoing clinical guidance to ensure you receive high-quality support.
I enjoy working with children, adolescents, adults, and families who may be experiencing anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, self-esteem concerns, stress, or simply need a safe place to process life's experiences. My goal is to create a welcoming environment where you feel heard, supported, and empowered to grow.
